The Center for Academic Services came into being in 2000 to facilitate the management and operation of a variety of nontraditional academic activities, including training courses, consulting services designed to contribute to business incubation and entrepreneurship, experiential learning opportunities, and collaborative research and development projects.

To achieve these goals, the Center for Academic Services is divided according to function into three sections: Training, Research and Development, and Continuing Education. Training provides courses that develop greater human resource potential. Research and Development programs are jointly funded and administered with private and other public institutions. Continuing Education engages in professional development activities to improve the aptitudes and efficiency of working professionals.
